COOPERATIVE LEARNING STRATEGY (CLS): A LITERATURE REVIEW
2021, EduQuad (International &Peer Reviewed Journal of Education)
Cooperative learning environment prepares and exposes students to collaboration and various valuable social skills they will use during their lives. Also, working together to achieve a common goal produces high achievement and greater productivity than working alone. This paper examined the conceptual and theoretical approaches to Cooperative Learning Strategy (CLS). It began with the definition of cooperative learning; followed by the history of cooperative learning strategy. Different models of cooperative learning strategy were discussed. Four basic theories of cooperative learning strategy were treated namely; cognitive development, social-cognitive, behavioural learning and socialinterdependence theories. Of the theories of cooperation, social interdependence theory was discovered as the most important in terms of research generated and practical application.
