Band 5+: Some people believe that teachers have an important role to play in the educational success, while others think it is the students' attitude that matters. Discuss both views and share your opinion.
While educational success requires an appropriate approach from the instructor, some may believe that the attitude of the student is also important. In my experience, both should be considered as the important factors to have in order to achieve the highest potential from education.
Since we were young, the teacher is the person who engages with the student the most, not only in the academic approaches, but other living matters that we have to learn from. Furthermore, they are our very earliest role models of adults and often are the reason why we like or dislike the subject that they have taught. For example, in my earlier childhood’s memory, art was my favourite subject and the impact that made me in favour of that was derived from the way my instructor taught. In contrast, If the teacher has illustrated the bad attitude; acted aggressively, or frustration, it could be a nightmare for some pupils leading to behaviour against them.
The other important factor that reinforces great achievement in terms of academics is the thoughts from each individual. For instance, if students are forced to do something that they dislike, the result would be opposite to the subjects that they enjoy. However, I believe that most of the time there are some subjects that students do not like, but to be able to complete them it would require much more effort. Likewise, if the student has a good attitude towards every subjects, they could achieve good grades for every of their requirements.
To conclude, the instructor had played an important role at the earlier stage of our educational path, thus they are the important factors that have an influence on our mindset. On the other hand, the attitude of each individual would also affect the performance and handle methods of our learning progress.

Important qualities of a good school teacher
- IELTS Writing Task 2
IELTS Writing Task 2 with sample answer.
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
What are some important qualities of a good school teacher? Use specific details and examples to explain why these qualities are important.
Sample Answer: It goes without saying that teachers are the emissary of light in the society. Some crucial qualities, like intelligence, leadership and discipline, and objectivity, are bestowed upon the teachers in a way they can solve students’ problem and motivate them in an unbiased way. In this essay, I will provide reasons and explanations as to why I believe these are the important traits of a teacher.
First of all, when it comes to the qualities of teacher, intelligence comes first. A good teacher is intelligent enough to differentiate the levels of students and provide particular solution to the particular student. All students do not belong to the same level. They come from different backgrounds and have different levels of intelligence. An intelligent teacher can explain in detail without unnecessary complexity what the different levels’ students need to know. Let me share my personal experience. In school days, our math teacher, who was smart enough to discern the levels of students, could elaborate on specific concept a particular student needed to be clarified.
Secondly, another utmost important aspect is the leadership and discipline a good teacher is endowed with. With this quality, the teacher can keep students focused, motivated, and well-behaved. For instance, some students lead different lifestyle; accordingly, their behavior could probably be aggressive, introvert or. Another student bullies a good student for his performance. A good teacher smartly handles this situation. He shows the good student how to remain in his goal despite his obstacles. Again, he also motivates a wicked student to make him well behaved.
Last but not at all least, a good teacher possess objectivity to avert his own bias to penetrate his instruction. That is to say that when he gives an advice, evaluates or whatever he does, he needs to avoid his predilection. For example, a teacher tends to be sympathize with a particular student. But when he evaluates exam paper, he should unbiasedly assess them. That means he must treat all students in the same way. Moreover, everybody has some characteristic limitations. So, the teachers need to be careful so that their own limitations do not permeate to their students.
From what has been discussed above it can be easily said that the qualities like wit, guidance, and punctuality, are really important trait. These qualities help teachers to solve students’ problem easily, to control and motivate them without any personal follies.

Learning is an ongoing process. The one who stops learning is the one who gets old. Some people believe that to learn it is very important to have a teacher, whereas others are of the opinion that one does not requires a teacher to learn something. In my opinion, teacher plays a very important role in learning during early stage, however with time, one can learn things on his/her own.
Teachers surely play a crucial role in the process of learning. Firstly, a teacher has adequate knowledge to make subjects easier for the students and also teach them in a more effective way. For instance, a particular student might be weak in some subjects but a teacher makes learning the subject more fun and teaching them according to their mental capacity. Even more, some children can learn better in groups. A class proves beneficial for such students as it provides them with the point of view of many others.
Importance Of Teacher
On the other hand, with the coming of technology, many universities provide online courses such that students can learn varied topics on their own. This has proved as a boon for those who are too shy to attend classes because of their age or are not able to pay the tuition fee. Even more, learning things by oneself often provides students with more knowledge as compared to one imparted by teachers.
Overall, in my opinion, teachers role in the younger years of learning can never be taken away, however, self learning is a more effective way of learning in the later years of life.

Sample Essay 1
Many people argue that the most effective way to learn English is by studying with native speakers. While this approach has undeniable benefits, I believe that non-native teachers can be equally effective, depending on the learner's needs. This essay will explore the importance of native teachers in enhancing pronunciation and cultural understanding, while also discussing how non-native teachers can offer unique advantages, especially in terms of grammar and relatable learning experiences.
One key advantage of learning English from native teachers is their ability to provide authentic pronunciation and accent training. Native speakers naturally offer exposure to the nuances of spoken English, such as intonation, stress patterns, and colloquial expressions. This is particularly beneficial for students aiming to achieve near-native fluency or for those preparing to live in English-speaking countries. For example, a student preparing for a business career in the UK may benefit greatly from native instructors who can guide them through the subtleties of British English. In this regard, native teachers contribute to the cultural and conversational fluency that is often necessary in professional settings.
On the other hand, non-native teachers bring distinct advantages to the classroom. Having gone through the process of learning English themselves, they often have a deeper understanding of the challenges learners face, particularly with grammar and vocabulary. Non-native teachers may be better equipped to explain complex grammatical rules in a clear and relatable way, as they can empathize with the learning process. For instance, a non-native teacher may know the common pitfalls of their students' native language, allowing them to tailor their teaching to prevent frequent mistakes. This relatability and adaptability can make non-native teachers excellent guides for learners at the beginner or intermediate levels.
In conclusion, while native English teachers are invaluable for improving pronunciation and cultural fluency, non-native teachers excel in teaching grammar and providing relatable experiences. Both types of instructors offer unique benefits, and the ideal choice depends on the student's learning objectives and language proficiency level.
Sample Essay 2
Many individuals believe that the most effective way to master English is by studying with native speakers. I fully agree with this view, as native teachers offer unparalleled insights into natural language use and cultural context. This essay will explore how native teachers provide an authentic language experience and develop critical listening and speaking skills in learners, helping them achieve fluency more effectively than non-native instructors.
First, learning from native speakers allows students to immerse themselves in authentic language use, providing them with a more holistic understanding of the language. Native teachers not only convey grammatical rules but also incorporate colloquial expressions, idiomatic phrases, and real-world examples that learners may not encounter in traditional textbooks or formal education settings. For example, native instructors often include informal speech patterns and regional accents in their lessons, which give students a true sense of how the language is used across different contexts. This exposure is essential for students aiming to communicate naturally in professional or social settings, as it equips them with the ability to adapt to various dialects, conversational norms, and even cultural nuances that can influence communication. This deep understanding of language variations helps learners feel more confident and competent when interacting with native speakers in real-world scenarios.
Second, native teachers significantly enhance students’ listening and speaking skills by providing a model of correct pronunciation, stress, and intonation patterns that are challenging for non-native teachers to replicate consistently. Through regular interaction with native speakers, learners develop better comprehension and fluency, as they are constantly exposed to authentic speech rhythms, natural pacing, and even spontaneous language use, which are critical for advanced proficiency. For instance, students working with native teachers can engage in real-time conversations, receiving immediate, nuanced feedback on both linguistic and pragmatic errors, such as the improper use of tone or context-specific vocabulary. This type of immersive learning is essential for mastering the intricacies of language that are often overlooked in textbook-based education, such as how expressions may change based on social or cultural contexts, which contributes to the student's overall communicative competence.
In conclusion, native English teachers offer unique advantages that accelerate language learning, particularly by immersing students in authentic speech and helping them develop strong listening and speaking abilities. These aspects make studying with native teachers the most effective method for achieving fluency in English.
Sample Essay 3
Many people believe that the most effective way to learn English is by studying with native teachers. However, I completely disagree with this view, as non-native instructors often bring valuable insights that cater specifically to learners' needs. This essay will argue that non-native teachers excel in explaining complex grammar and provide a relatable learning experience, making them just as effective as native speakers, if not more so.
First, non-native teachers often have a superior ability to explain the complexities of English grammar. Having gone through the process of learning English themselves, they understand the common challenges learners face and can offer more relatable and structured explanations. Native teachers may sometimes overlook these difficulties because they have an intuitive, rather than learned, understanding of the language. For example, a non-native instructor is more likely to break down grammatical nuances, such as verb tenses or sentence structure, in ways that are easier for students to grasp. This practical knowledge often makes non-native teachers more skilled at addressing the specific issues learners encounter, thereby enhancing their overall understanding of the language.
Second, non-native teachers offer a highly relatable learning experience that native teachers may struggle to provide. Since non-native teachers have once been language learners themselves, they can empathize with students' frustrations and obstacles. This shared experience allows them to design lessons that are more effective and tailored to students’ particular needs. Additionally, they can draw on their own learning strategies and techniques that helped them achieve fluency. For instance, non-native teachers often incorporate their knowledge of the student’s mother tongue to explain challenging concepts, which can significantly accelerate comprehension. This ability to relate to students' experiences fosters a more comfortable and supportive learning environment, where students feel understood and encouraged.
In conclusion, non-native teachers are highly effective in helping students master English due to their strong grasp of grammar and ability to relate to learners’ challenges. These qualities often make them better suited to guide students on their language learning journey than native teachers.
